Srilanka ready to return on cricket ground: Mickey Arthur

Colombo: Even though India has postponed the tour of Sri Lanka due to Corona virus this month, but this country is ready to return to the cricket ground. Coach Mickey Arthur said his team completed their first training session after the lockdown.

Arthur told reporters that the ‘return-to-play’ program began earlier this month and was successful, with 13 players participating in residential training.

Arthur said, “We have done a lot of conditioning and every day we have taken his bowling forward.” He said, “So they are ready for the next month, they are ready to play cricket.”

The next training session is scheduled to begin in a week, although the Sri Lankan team still do not know when they will play again. The Indian team, which was to tour Sri Lanka for a series of three ODIs and three T20 Internationals this month, canceled the tour due to Corona virus.

Cricket has stopped in Sri Lanka since 13 March when the England team withdrew from the practice match ahead of the two-Test series due to Corona.

Arthur had prepared a home-training blueprint for many players of the national team since the lockdown on March 20.
