South Africa lodges complaint against Australia for postponing Test series in ICC

New Delhi: Cricket Australia postponed the Test series to be held next month indefinitely, against which the South Africa Cricket Board has officially filed a complaint with the ICC. Last week, a letter was written by the CSA to the ICC and Cricket Australia, expressing dissatisfaction with the postponement of the series. Actually, Australia was told not to travel by citing Corona, due to which Australia had postponed the Test series against South Africa.

In the letter written to the ICC from South Africa, it has been said that the ICC should look at how the distribution of points in the World Test Championship due to Australia postponing the series and assessing Corona’s position in South Africa decide whether Cricket Australia has violated the rules by not visiting South Africa.

According to the FTP agreement of the ICC, member countries are required to follow their own fixed schedule provided there is no circumstance that they cannot abide by it. Which includes the instructions of the government of the country concerned. In 2007, the Australian government asked the team not to visit Zimbabwe for political reasons and the ICC did not oppose the decision. Similarly, in 2008 the Indian team refused to visit Pakistan, at that time the team was asked by the Government of India not to visit Pakistan, due to which in both cases the Cricket Board The ICC did not take any action against it.
