NewDelhi: Day 3 of the Trent Bridge Test between India and England saw India pacer Mohd Siraj give it back to his English counterpart, James Anderson, who frustrated by the then-unbeaten last-wicket stand, chose to give the former an earful.
The incident happened during the 84th over of the innings, which was Anderson’s first with the second new ball. Perhaps due to a rush of blood, Mohd Siraj had made a wild swing at a delivery floated around his off-stump, albeit unsuccessfully.
The heroics were however not appreciated by the English veteran, who soon after made a deliberate attempt to walk past the Indian bowler and mumble to him a piece of his mind.
1st Test: Bumrah, Shami lead charge as India dismiss England for 183
Not one to back away, Mohd Siraj immediately turned around to respond and repay the gesture in the same coin. To everyone’s relief, the matter did not escalate any further as both the players had to change ends shortly after the altercation.
This, however, triggered a meme fest, that consequently flooded all social media with images and video snippets of the incident.
As of now, the Indian team is has a lead of 70 runs over the Englishmen, with openers Dominic Sibley and Rory Burns unbeaten at the crease.
India has got a formidable lead with the help of tail-enders especially by Bumrah who even got praise from legendry batsmen Sachin Tendulkar for his pull shot which he executed on Sam Curran bowling.
India and England are set to play 5 matches test series. However, it’s India’s first test match after the World cricket test championship where India lost to New Zealand.
Bumrah can take 400 Test wickets if he stays fit, says Ambrose
