Chris Morris, the 34-year-old South African all-rounder, announced on Tuesday that he was retiring from all forms of cricket.
Morris said that he would next be seen in a coaching job with South African domestic team Titans, despite having fitness concerns later in his career.
“I’ve decided to withdraw from all kinds of cricket as of today! Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way, big or small… It’s been a lot of fun! I’m ecstatic to start coaching at @titanscricket #lifebeginsnow “Morris, who played for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2021, posted on Instagram.

Morris made his international debut against New Zealand in December 2012, and his first One-Day International was in 2013. When England toured South Africa in 2016, the all-rounder played his first Test match.
Morris represented the Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Rajasthan Royals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, appearing in four Tests, 42 One-day Internationals, and 23 T20 Internationals.

In 2019, he last played for South Africa in the ODI World Cup in England. He was the most expensive purchase at the IPL auction, with Rajasthan Royals paying Rs. 16.25 crores for him in the IPL 2021 auction.
