Delhi Government Started Online Yoga Classes For Home Isolated Patients

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated on Tuesday that the Delhi government will provide free online yoga classes to Covid-19 patients in home isolation. Registrations for the event started on Tuesday, and lessons will begin on Wednesday, he said.

“As a first start, we’ve decided to offer special yoga courses to all Covid-19 patients receiving home isolation treatment in Delhi.” In one-on-one online courses, they will be able to study yoga and pranayama from our instructors. “A large team of instructors has been recruited for this,” Kejriwal stated, “who have been appropriately qualified to teach patients Covid related asanas and pranayama.”

Covid patients will be provided registration links so they can sign up for classes and choose their preferred time periods. Each yoga session will last one hour. Patients can schedule appointments between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. or 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

“Yoga and pranayama enhance the immune system, and I hope this benefits everyone in Delhi and keeps everyone well,” Kejriwal said, adding that they also help to improve a person’s mental and emotional state.

On December 13, Kejriwal introduced the “Dilli Ki Yogshala” programme, which will provide free yoga courses to residents of housing societies, colony parks, and community centres. The programme was supposed to begin this month. The plan was postponed because to the increase in Covid-19 instances and the limits in place.

In February, the programme was approved. The government has enlisted the help of the Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, as well as its own training and technical education division, to provide the trainers. In partnership with the university, the Centre for Meditation and Yoga Sciences (CMYS) was founded. CMYS began offering diploma and certificate programmes, enrolling over 650 students. According to a second official, these students were then taught and qualified as yoga instructors and will now teach yoga to Delhi residents.
