To supervise the legislative party meeting, three BJP leaders, led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, arrived in Jaipur earlier today.

A key state where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returned to power with a resounding majority in the recently concluded elections, Rajasthan, has chosen Bajan Lal Sharma, a first-time MLA from the Sanganer assembly constituency, to be its chief minister. The chief minister-elect was chosen at the legislature party meeting, which was overseen by three BJP observers who traveled to Jaipur earlier today under the direction of defense minister Rajnath Singh.

Vinod Tawde, Sarok Pandey and the Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, the BJP’s Rajasthan organizer, were part of the central team. Both former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and CP Joshi greeted the team.

CM Raje, who served as Chief Minister twice, was considered a strong contender for the position. The candidates for the coveted position had not been made public by the team. But names from the political world had been making the rounds: MP-turned-MLA Balaknath, Raje, Kirrori Lal Meena and Diya Kumari.

Out of the 199 seats in Rajasthan that were up for the elections, the BJP secured 115 seats.

The BJP made unexpected selections in Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, Mohan Yadav and Vishnu Deo Sai, respectively, taking into account the caste system in these two states prior to the general elections of 2024.

About Bhajan Lal Sharma

Significant victories have been part of BJP leader Bhajan Lal Sharma’s political career. He has four times held the position of BJP State General Secretary. His victory over Indian National Congress (INC) opponent Pushpendra Bhardwaj, who received 97,081 votes, was impressive as he secured 145,162 votes to win the Snganer assembly seat.

Bhajalal Sharma stated, “Thank you to Prime Minister Modi, President of BJP Mr. JP Nadda, Union Minister of Home affairs Amit Shah and Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh. I express my gratitude to former Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje for suggesting my name. I want to reassure you that every Rajasthan MLA will live up to the public’s expectations of the BJP and myself. We will guarantee the comprehensive development of Rajasthan in every aspect under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rajasthan BJP chief CP Joshi says at a press conference in Jaipur, “I am assured that Rajasthan will reach new levels of development under the direction of Bhajanlal Sharma.”
