A heinous incident was reported in the capital where acid was thrown at a 17-year-old girl. A day after the incident Delhi police during the investigation issued a notice to Flipkart from where the accused had bought the acid.

The accused has been identified as Sachin Arora who had bought the acid from an e-commerce site that is Flipkart. The sale of acid is banned in the Indian market.

The girl was attacked when she was heading toward her school at 7:30 am. Three persons have been accused in the case.

The other two were identified as Harshit Agarwal and Virender Singh. Three of them plan for the acid attack after the friendship ended. All three accused are residents of the same locality where the girl resides.

According to the information received at the time of the incident Harshit was driving the bike and Arora and sonu were to throw the acid at the girl. They even tried to mislead the investigation by putting the mobile phone in a different location.

The police have got clinching evidence from the transaction record to buy the acid through Paytm. Meanwhile, the Delhi Commission for Women has issued a legal notice to both Flipkart and Amazon for selling acid on their platforms.

The commission was furious after they came to know that acids were easily available on online shopping platforms. As per the legal notice from the Commission, it quoted “The ease of availability of acid on online platforms is a matter of grave concern and needs to be checked urgently,”
