A handsome initiative was observed by Tamil Nadu after an order was passed to promote online classical Tamil programmes. The step was taken to promote the student’s interest in understanding their culture.

According to the information received The Central Institute of Classical Tamil will act as the nodal agency. The main objective of the programme is to make the student aware of the rich history and culture of the Tamil language and to do a detailed analysis of Tamil literature.

The main objective of the programme was to get the mass aware of Tamil literature without getting it into any heterogeneous content. The Central government has already sanctioned Rs 41.97 crore for the development of the programme. The funds would be used in teaching Tamil in India as well as outside the country. The state government has also sanctioned funds to the Central Institute of Classical Tamil.

According to the information received the online classes will be conducted in two different categories. Following this, the introductory session would be of three months and special classes would comprise six months.

The old-age Tamil grammar will be included in the syllabus and the historical evolution of the Tamil language will be taught.
