Bijnor: A woman murdered her one-and-a-half-year-old baby girl in a fit of rage to hurt her husband in the Aurangpur Bhikku village in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, the police said on Monday.
According to superintendent of police Dinesh Singh, the father of the girl has filed a complaint saying that the baby died under mysterious circumstances on Saturday.
Nevertheless, the post-mortem revealed that the girl died because of suffocation, he said, adding that on the grounds of suspicion, the child’s mother was taken into custody.
During interrogation, she confessed to having strangled the child to death out of anger during a tiff with her husband, Singh said.
According to reports, Ankit and Shivani got married three years ago, but after the birth of their daughter, they often locked horns. The police registered a case against the woman.
