Lucknow: Winter has almost set in and temperature has gone down, but there has been no let-up in dengue cases in Lucknow, capital of Madhya Pradesh. More than 47 cases have been reported from different parts of the city in the past 24 hours. The areas from where dengue cases were reported are Aishbagh (six), Chander Nagar (five), Aliganj (five), Indira Nagar (four), NK Road (five) and Chinhat (four). The health department has sent notices to 14 houses where mosquito larvae were spotted, said district health education officer Yogesh Raghuwanshi.
Meanwhile, doctors said although there was a fall in temperature because of the onset of winter, it may take a few more days to decline the number of dengue cases.
Similarly, according to Abhishek Shukla, secretary general of the association of international doctors, as the fall in day temperature came just two days ago, it may take a few more days to decline the number of fresh dengue cases. Experts say temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius are considered adverse to mosquito breeding, and the number of new cases will soon decline.
The government has issued directives to all private laboratories to update test reports of dengue samples with the health department at the district level, so that the cases are registered and treated, sources said. According to reports, there were no new covid-19 cases in the state.
