Lucknow: The number of dengue cases is rising in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. More than 43 fresh cases of dengue have been reported from different parts of the city in the past 24 hours, official sources said. Health teams inspected over 2,000 hours to prevent mosquito breeding, but that came to naught. Nearly 79 cases have been reported since November 1.
The new cases were reported from Indira Nagar (four), Aishbagh (four), Chandannagar (six), NK Road (five) Chinhat (four), Turiyaganj (four) and Malihabad (three). The teams issued notices to the owners of those houses where the health teams found larva, official sources said. The district magistrate took feedback on whether the patients have been provided with proper medicines and health facilities at the civil hospital.
Chief medical superintendent of the hospital Dr RP Singh informed the district magistrate about the health facilities, stock of medicines and beds kept for dengue patients. Divisional commissioner Roshan Jackob has formed several teams to arrest the dengue cases in the state capital.

A few days ago, the Lucknow bench of the high court also took a serious view on the rising dengue cases and directed the administration to inform the court about the measures taken by them to prevent the disease and the facilities provided to the patients.
Immediately after the court directive, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with the senior officials of the health department and directed them to go to fields and launch a campaign against the disease.
