Bhagpat (UP): A 25-year-old constable working for the Uttar Pradesh Police polished off his father in Shakba village in Bhagpat district of the state for not allowing him to tie the knot with his girlfriend, official sources said on Wednesday. According to station officer of Chhaprauli police station Nitin Pandey, accused Gaurav Kumar, posted in Unnao, confessed to having committed the crime, so a case has been registered against Gaurav after his mother lodged a complaint against him.
The incident surfaced on October 17 when Gaurav’s mother Vimla Devi filed a complaint that her 52-year-old husband Sudesh Pal had not returned home. When the police began to investigate the case, they came to know that the accused constable had been absent from duty for the past several months. It was also revealed that Gaurav had a dispute with his father over marrying his (Gaurav’s) girlfriend.
During the dispute, as Sudesh objected to Gaurav’s wish to marry his girlfriend, the constable hit him in the head. Gaurav’s father died on the spot. Then, Gaurav put his father’s body in a pack and threw it in a sugarcane field on the outskirts of the village, Pandey said.
The villagers found the body and informed the police about it. During the inquiry into the case, the police came to know that Sudesh’s killer was none but his son.
