Chennai: A man pushed his 20-year-old girlfriend before a running train at a railway station in Tamil Nadu on Thursday. The woman died on the spot and the man ran away from the scene, the police said, adding that the woman had been in a relationship with the man in his early 20s for the last few years.
On Thursday afternoon, when they were at the railway station, an argument broke out between them, the man pushed her before a running train, the police said. The incident caused panic among the passengers who were at the platform. The police said that the body was sent for post mortem and that the mother of the woman is a police constable and the father is working for a private firm. A special team has been formed to search for the culprit.
