Bhubaneshwar (Odisha): A youth was tied to a two-wheeler and dragged on the bustling streets of Cuttack in Odisha for his failure to pay the money he had borrowed from lenders, the police said on Monday. The incident came to light after a video clip of the incident went viral on social media. The poor youth tied to a two-wheeler was dragged from city’s Shelter Chhak to Mission Road, leaving the passers-by dumb-struck.

Immediately after the video clip went viral on social media, the Cuttack police plunged into action and detained two persons responsible for the inhuman act. The police said that the incident had taken place on Sunday, though the video clip did not mention its exact time. Deputy commissioner of police in Cuttack Pinak Mishra said that the police took action after they had come to know of the incident at 11pm on Sunday.

As soon as the incident came to the notice, Mishra asked the police stations and additional commissioners of police to probe the case and that the police detained two culprits. The youth had been acquainted with the culprits, and borrowed money from them. Mishra, however, did not disclose the names of the accused, as investigation was going on.
