62-year-old farmer shot dead in UP’s Baghpat

Baghpat (UP): A land dispute led to the killing of a 62-year-old farmer in Baghpat area of Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, the police said on Thursday. When two farmers Tapeshwar Tyagi and Arjun Tyagi were sitting near a tube well in Badagaon village on Wednesday night, a group of people shot at them. After the assailants shot at them, Tapeshwar slumped to the ground in a pool of blood and died on the spot. Arjun was rushed to a hospital where his condition was stated to be stable, the police further said.

A FIR was lodged against three attackers Vishal, Babban and Ritik  on the grounds of the family members of Tapeshwar and Arjun. An investigation into the case is going on.
