Hardoi (UP): The police took five persons into custody for bashing a youth and lopping off his hair in Kaithipurwa area of Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district a few days ago, official sources said on Thursday. The incident came to light after a video clip of it went viral on social media.

When the youth identified as Rohit, a resident of Karimnagar area, was wandering around the city, a few women complained that he was stalking them. A group of people caught hold of him and cut off his hair and beat him up. According to inspector Inderjit Singh, the police arrested five persons Satyendra Kumar, Krishna Pal, Rampal and two others.
