Mumbai: Corona virus infection continues to increase in Maharashtra and more than 1.69 lakh people have been infected with covid-19 in the state. Amid the growing transition of Corona, the Indian Railways has decided to start a local train in Mumbai, which will be operational from 1 July.
After approval from the state and central governments, the local train in Mumbai is starting from Wednesday for people working in courts, banks, defense, income tax, customs and other fields besides central employees.
“In Mumbai, from July 1, Central Railway and Western Railway will operate 150 and 148 more local trains respectively,” said an Indian Railway official.
