SC seeks status report from UP Govt on Kanpur shelter home case

New Delhi: A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Tuesday on the case of more than 50 children being corona positive in a child protection home in Kanpur, in which the court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to file a status report. The Supreme Court appointed Advocate Gaurav Aggarwal as the amicus curiae. The next hearing in the case will be on 13 July.

Let us tell you that on June 22, in the Government Child Protection Home in Kanpur, 57 girls were found stunned due to the corona virus getting infected, not only that 7 girls were also found pregnant here. During the investigation, it was found that two girls are also suffering from HIV and Hepatitis C.

After this matter came up, the problems of the Uttar Pradesh government have increased and now the Supreme Court has sought a status report from the state government. The Supreme Court cited media reports that more than 50 children have been infected in a shelter home in Kanpur, which has been found to be Covid 19 infected.
