Roald Dahl fiesta on Netflix- All the series and movies by this  author

Netflix has not only expanded its deal with Roald Dahl but has also purchased the Roald Dahl company in the year 2021 for a work of more than £500 million. A number of projects are there on the way so have a look at all the series and movies that are coming to the Netflix streaming platform.

As we have already mentioned, Netflix has signed a deal in November 2018 for working with Roald Dahl company to work on all of the new projects. Some of the initial projects are included below that are yet to be released. After around three years of signing the deal in 2018, Netflix purchased the Roald Dahl company and its library of IP. The company is now properly going to act autonomously with all of the Netflix business.

Who is Roald Dahl? Roald Dahl was the son of Norwegian immigrant parents who was born in Llandaff, Cardiff. He was the acclaimed author who served RAF in WW2 and has also worked on propaganda pieces. Despite writing short stories, Dahl is always going to be known as a beloved children’s author who started with Gremlins in 1943 and ended The Minpins in 1991.

The confirmed Roald Dahl projects are coming to Netflix.

1.     Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

On-Screen Adaptations: 2

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is unfortunately the first project of Roald Dahl. It took around 16 months for the announcement of this project but now we are having the full confirmation about Thor: Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit director directing the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

2.     Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator

On-Screen Adaptations: 0

Taika Waititi is going to write the first on-screen adaptation of Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. Despite the fact that this novel is almost 50 years old and is loved by the people a lot, no one has taken its project. Just like the sequel of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this is also the movie that is written by Taika Waititi.

3.     Matilda

First Published: 1st October 1988

On-Screen Adaptations: 1

This is a 1996 film that is remembered by all the people who were growing up during the 90s. The story of Matilda is loved by all and is there in the hearts of people of the 90s. Netflix will definitely capture the magic of the novel with an intended animated adaptation. However, there is no confirmation yet about who is going to lead the project but as soon as we get the information we will let you know.

Therefore, the movie is coming on the Netflix streaming platform by December 2022. So, get ready for it, if interested.

4.     The Twits

First Published: 1980

On-Screen Adaptations: 0

For so many years, there were plans for producing a feature film for The Twits but the project was abandoned around 2012. John Cleese was appointed to write the script and Kirk De Micco. Disney would have been the producer of the movie. The animation must be done by studio Vanguard Film & Animation. Hence, Netflix is going to provide the very first on-screen adaptation of The Twits- beloved children’s novel.
