F for Family is coming up with the fifth season and the sad news is that Season 5 is going to be the final season of the series. Has Netflix renewed F for Family for a Season 5?
The renewal for F for Family Season 5 was made by Josef Adalian through the news via Vulture. He was the one who said in October 2020 that F for Family is renewed for a Season 5 on Netflix. However, the big caveat is that Season 5 is going to be the last season of this series.
It is not at all surprising given Netflix isn’t known for keeping shows alive for such a long time period. Bojack Horseman is the longest-running adult animated series on Netflix. The series is having around 6 seasons but the recent news claim that Big Mouth is expected to overtake.
What is the production status for Season 5 of F for Family?
Along with the announcement of the renewal of Season 5 of F for Family, Vulture also confirmed that Season 5 has already begun with the pre-production.
On October 2nd, there was a zoom call where all the writers talked about the Season 5 of F for Family.
Typically, with the animation shows, the story goes first, the animation gets started, sounds and voice. After all this only, the animation gets finished. As long as the process is going on, it depends on how many episodes Netflix commissions. But we are not expecting it until late 2021 but 2022 seems more likely at this point.
Michael Price addressed how the pandemic affected the production of Season 5. He stated that in the writing portion at least, not much has changed out. For most of the part, the show is being produced but with different technology. We have also learned that episode number 501 named THE MAHOGANY FORTRESS is written by Michael Price only.
How many episodes are going to be there in Season 5 of F for Family?
With the expectation of Season 1, each and every season of F for Family had around 10 episodes. But this is not the case with Season 5. As this is the last and the final season of the series, it has been expected that there are going to be more episodes than the previous seasons.

Season 5 will take place for the remainder that will occur on Christmas Day. There will be a Thanksgiving episode in Season 5. Bob Pogo will be getting his own plot arc in Season 5 only and Michael Price teases it to be very fun.
