New Delhi: On Thursday, the march of Congress leaders being taken to the Rashtrapati Bhavan under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi on the issue of farmer agitation was stopped, while Priyanka Gandhi was taken into custody during this period. However, Rahul later reached Rashtrapati Bhavan with some leaders. Gandhi was going to give a memorandum to the President with Congress MPs seeking to resolve the issue of farmer agitation. Thousands of farmers have been demonstrating on the borders of Delhi for nearly a month against the agricultural laws of the Center.

The Congress has said that the memorandum Rahul is giving to the President has about two crore signatures on it. In this memorandum, the President has been demanded to intervene on the issue of farmers. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other senior leaders were also with Rahul Gandhi. Priyanka and some other leaders were taken into custody by the police and they were sent back by a bus. He will soon be released from custody.

The police stopped their march and said that only the leaders who have got permission will go to meet the President. After being stopped, Priyanka Gandhi sat down on the road and said that ‘any step which is taking voice against this government is being described as terror. We are taking this march in support of the farmers.
