You may or may not be aware of how in the past, people have struggled a lot to reach where they have reached. Their struggles to get freedom for the country, their hardships to save money so that they could feed their family, have their own home, and also make some savings for their retirement is just unique for everybody. May Day also stresses the importance of social equality, social justice, and basic rights in workplaces all over the globe. Empowerment of workers is also stressed so that they can get acquainted with the needed knowledge, skills, duties, and rights.
How to manage increasing working hours
It is noteworthy how every worker irrespective of how their salary or the scope of work is, ensures that they give their best to their profession. Now think what performance appraisal does a mochi get? But still, when you go to his shop, he touches your shoes, designs them the way you want, and also charges you his fees as per the current rate. Now even if the mochiwala decides to increase his work, he cannot because nowadays people prefer to buy new shoes in online stores at discounted rates rather than get their old shoes stitched. So, do you think that mochiwala is a depressed guy who is dissatisfied with his job? No, he is in fact happy with whatever he has and only lives for the day.
People may argue that not every profession is the same and more respect and appreciation should be given to professions that are high-paying like the managers, directors, ministers, owners, celebrities, etc. However, that’s not the case when it comes to work because each worker is it small or big, or medium makes the work possible, so everyone deserves to be appreciated and get the required respect.
Just imagine if one day your locality kachrawala doesn’t come. What happens if he doesn’t come for a week? Won’t your locality stink and people living in the areas start feeling uncomfortable sooner or later? We think picking rags or waste is such a menial job but it is of so much importance if not done in a timely and proper manner. Thus, we need to be careful in our approach when we speak to any laborer or worker who still uses his human energy to get things done.
You cannot replace humans with technology all at once because that will not create a good world. Some tasks need human efforts like a nurse injecting a small child need the care and affection that a robot cannot express and make things seem dangerous for the kid. So, today let us take the chance to appreciate everyone who comes our way and show them how much contribution they do to society even with their simple and monotonous jobs.
