Pratapgarh (UP): In the memory of former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and the head of Samajwadi Party (SP), a two-day wrestling competition will be held in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh from Friday, sources said on Thursday. As many as 40 wrestlers from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan will take part in the contest.
According to official sources, some wrestlers from Nepal may also take part in the event named Akhil Bharatiya Viraat Kushti Dangal to the held at Katra Medniganj Nagar Panchayat. Mulayam Singh Yadav himself was a well-known wrestler. The members of Umang Welfare Society, which is organising the competition, are busy giving preparing for the competition. An SP leader Siraj-ul-Haq, who was close to Mulayam Singh Yadav, runs the organisation.
According to Haq, seven teams and 40 wrestlers will take part in the competition. Spectators will see the wrestlers like Baba Bajrangi from Ayodhya, Thakur Balwan Singh from Lakhimpur Kheri, Tiger Pehalwan from Udhampur Dhami and others in the ring, Haq said.
