While the opposition has launched a frontal attack on Yogi Aditynath Goverment for the death of a Kanpur based trader allegedly by police thrasing in Gorakhpur demanding CBI probe in the case the CM himself took the commond of damage control exercise and met the wife of deceased in his home town Kanpur.
According to sources Meenakshi Gupta, wife of deceased Manish Gupta will be appointed as OSD in the Kanpur Development Authority.

After meeting the CM Yogi, Meenakshi Gupta expressed satisfaction and said that all of her demands have been accepted. ” The CM has asked for a formal request letter for CBI probe beside assuring job to her and financial security for my son” she said. ” The CM gave a patient hearing to our grievances like a family head and assured that case will be transferred to Kanpur from Gorakhpur” she added.
The CM termed the entire episode as very unfortunate claiming those guilty will be punished.
Earlier SP president Akhilesh Yadav also met the family of deceased and announced financial help of Rs 20 lakh from his party and demanded Rs 2 crore as compensation to the grieved family.
Besides Akhilesh Yadav, the BSP supremo Mayawati, AICC general secretary Priyanka Vadra, Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisaudia also lambasted Yogi Government for the gruesome incident alleging that justice was not possible by the same police which murdered the trader. “Only the CBI or Judicial probe can ensure justice to the family of deceased” was the demand of opposition in unison.

It may be recalled that Manish Gupta,36 allegedly died due to police brutality during a raid conducted in a hotle in Gorakhpur on late Monday night where Manish was staying along with his two other friends. A case of murder has been registered aganist six police personnels and hunt is on to nab them after they were suspended.
