Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh): Barra Beora village in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh is in the grip of communal tension after three persons, including a village head, had put up tiles with the pictures of Shiva in a toilet, sources said on Thursday. In view of the tension, the district administration deployed security forces in the village. Two of the accused have been arrested, and the village head is absconding, the police said.

A Bajrang Dal worker Sandeep Awasthi had complained about the incident to the police. According to the FIR, the village head and two others were involved in it. The district magistrate and SP Sitapur said that the matter would be investigated and action taken against the accused.
