Baghpat (UP): The district administration has beefed up security at the Baghpat ashram of self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim under the Binaul police circle, official sources said on Monday.
As Ram Rahim is staying at Dera Sacha Sauda’s Barnawa ashram, the administration beefed up security around the area. Gurmeet Ram Rahim, head of Dera Sacha Sauda ashram, is serving sentence at Rohtak’s Sunaria jail in connection with murder and rape. He has been given parole for 40 days.
According to a senior police official, the policemen are watching suspicious people entering the ashram and moving around the area. The police are checking the IDs of regular visitors and volunteers and not allowing mobile phones inside the ashram.
