Ballia (UP): The incidents of crime against women and children are rising across the country, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). A 25-year-old man recently violated a seven-year-old girl in the Nagra area of Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, sources. The man was booked on Saturday, the police said.

When the girl was playing outside her house, the man lured her and took her to his house on a motorcycle and raped her on September 5. The police said that a case was registered against the man. When the girl related the story to her parents, they did not report the case to the police. They, however, mustered courage and lodged a complaint against the culprit. The accused ran away and the police were searching for him. The girl is a student of class 2.
