Ayodhya (UP): A man who was charged with killing five persons including two minors was awarded capital punishment on Saturday, sources said on Sunday. Additional district of Ayodhya Amit Pandey (Special Judge of the EC Act) pronounced the death sentence and awarded life term to the mother father and wife of the main accused. All three were involved in the killing.
According to reports, the murder was committed in Baria Nisharu village under Inayat Nagar police station of Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh on March 21 last year when a man, his wife and three children, aged four, seven and ten years, were battered to death. The incident took place following a dispute over a piece of land. The main accused Pawan Kumar, with the help of his father Ramraj, mother Sheshmata and wife Mamata polished off the family of their kin. Those who were murdered were Rakesh (36), his wife Jyoti (32) Dhruv (four), Shakti (seven) and Anshika (ten). Pawan used an axe with which he lopped off the hands and legs of the minor children. The police arrested the murderers the next of the incident and presented them before the court.
