The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday arrested Uttar Pradesh criminal turned politician Muhtar Ansari in a money laundering case. The ED has been trying for since long to investigate the matter now they have got sufficient evidence to detain.
Earlier in November Abbas Ansari son of Muhtar Ansari was detained by the Enforcement Directorate after a nine-hour-long questioning.
The ED has now arrested the former BSP MLA who is now detained in Uttar Pradesh”s Banda jail. According to the information received the ED has been successful in arranging clinching evidence into the matter based on which Ansari was arrested.
Multiple FIR was lodged against the Mafia, the arrest is based on a 2002 Money laundering case. Further, the agency initiated a fresh investigation into the matter thus he was arrested today in Uttar Pradesh.
According to the official statement by the police, two more FIRs were registered for illegal construction and land encroachment. The firm was identified as Vikas Construction which was building an illegal warehouse on government lands. The warehouses were built in Mau and Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh.
As per the information received in one such FIR registered all the partners of Vikas construction were mentioned and they have been accused of the same. The charge sheet has been submitted by the Uttar Pradesh police.
