Greater Noida (UP): The members of Hyde Park Society’s Apartment Owners Association (AOA) located in sector 78 clashed over a petty dispute on Thursday night, police said on Friday. According to reports, the security guards of the society joined the violence on behalf of another group. Two women sustained injuries in the incident. The Kotwali police has begun a probe into the incident, sources said, adding that the dispute was related to election to the post of president of the apartment owners’ body. Both sides had heated exchanges over the issue on several occasions, but they had never been involved in violence.
When the members of the two groups were holding a discussion on the post of president, an altercation took place between the members belonging to Pushpendra and Dinesh Negi. The security guards allegedly beat up the supporters of Dinesh Negi, which led to chaos in the society. On getting information, the police rushed to the spot and quelled the angry people.
The police took two security guards into custody and were sifting through the CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
