Pilibhit: To get exempted from the upcoming municipal election duty, a teacher in a primary school at Puranpur submitted a fake covid-19 positive certificate, official sources said on Wednesday.

Sources further said the administration had issued an order to file an FIR against Ritu Tomar posted to primary school in Pachpeda village, Puranpur block, Pilibhit.

The teacher concerned was assigned the duty of polling officer-II at a pink booth in the civic bodies’ elections being held from May 11, sources further said.

Nevertheless, the teacher submitted an application with a medical certificate that she was down with covid-19 positive for exemption from the election duty, sources further said.

When the officers sifted through the documents, they came to know that the papers belonged to someone else, and the teacher had tampered with them.

She used the documents of another person who was actually down with covid-19 positive, sources further said.

The district administration asked the Basic Siksha Adhikari to register an FIR against the teacher concerned for forging documents, official sources further.
