Bijnor (UP): A 19-year-old woman committed suicide under mysterious circumstances only after ten days of her wedding at Bhogpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district, the police said on Tuesday. Her 22-year-old husband who has also consumed poison is battling for life at a hospital in Jaspur area.
According to reports, Neelam Kaur, who belonged to Bhogpur village fell in love with Bindar Singh and married him nearly ten days ago. The father of Neelam, Jarnail Singh, said that his daughter had been harassed for bringing more dowries and murdered. He alleged that the neighbours of his daughter had informed him about the incident, and when he rushed to the spot, he found his daughter dead. According to superintendent of police Dinesh Singh, the police have registered against the in-laws of Neelam and her husband Bindar Singh.
The police said that Neelam had consumed some poisonous substance after some dispute with her husband.
