Lucknow: The Lucknow police have booked a contractor and some unidentified persons for the death of nine people in a wall collapse in Dilkusha area in the early hours of September 16 when it heavily rained, official sources said on Sunday.
According to the FIR, the deaths occurred because of negligence. Three children were among those who lost their lives in the incident. The complaint lodged by Anil, a resident of Jhansi, said he along with the family members of Pappu and Dharmendra, had been working at a construction site in Dilkusha for the past two months.
Pappu and Dharmendra had been staying under a makeshift tent which was made with the help of an under-construction wall of the building. According to Anil, the contractor used sub-standard material for construction of the building, which caused the fall of the boundary wall. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Prachi Singh, the bodies have been sent to the native place of the victims and the police are investigating the case.
