Ghaziabad (UP): A criminal associated with several contract killings fell into the police dragnet in the Ghaziabad area of Uttar Pradesh, the police said on Thursday. He was in the area to kill a trader. The police confiscated a 9mm automatic pistol, five live cartridges and Rs 58, 000 that he had taken to kill the businessman.
The criminal identified as Jitendra Tyagi was caught late Wednesday, the police said. A resident of Nandgram in Ghaziabad, the criminal was arrested from the GT Road near the Opulent Mall on the grounds of a complaint filed against him.
When Tyagi was interrogated, he confessed to have accepted a contract of Rs 5 lakh from one Sampoornand aka Kale Aneja to execute the murder. He told the police that he had received Rs 1 lakh and would get the rest of the money after polishing off the trader concerned. There are many cases including murder and extortion against Tyagi, the police further said.
