Uttar PradeshBJP leader demands probe into Ayodhya Nazul land scam

Date:

Ayodhya: A leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Ayodhya has dashed off a complaint to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) demanding a high-level inquiry into the Nazul land scam in the holy city. BJP spokesperson Rajneesh Singh lodged the complaint at the grievances’ website of the PMO. He alleged that local government officials were involved in the scam.

He said that old documents of the Nazul lands should be matched with those of the new records during the probe, Singh said. In a similar complaint sent to the office of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Lallu Singh demanded an inquiry into the scam by a special task force into the Nazul land scam in Ayodhya. Because of the under-construction Ram temple in the holy city, the prices of land have shot up, so many people, including a few officials and land mafia are buying lands there, official sources said.

Besides the construction of Ram temple, the holy city has hogged the limelight for Nazul land scam in which many people including some bureaucrats are allegedly involved. The PMO shifted the issue to the UP government. According to sources, the land mafia has reportedly grabbed more than 2,000 bighas that lie behind Afeem Kothi in Faizabad. The vast tract is known as submerged area, sources said.

In the complaint, Lallu Singh has said that there is a nexus between the land sharks and the government officials.
