As school fails to hoist Tricolour, villagers protest

Basti (UP): A group of villagers have protested against the teachers of a government primary school for not hoisting the national flag. The incident occurred at Harraiya development block in Basti district of Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of the Independence Day on Monday. Neither any teacher nor any student was present to hoist the Tricolour on the school premises, the protesters said.

When the Basic Siksha Adhikari (BSA) came to know of it, he ordered a probe into the incident. The protesters came to know about it through a few students who went to the school in Noedeeh to celebrate Independence Day. The villagers then gathered outside the school and held a protest.
