According to sources in the forest department of Madhya Pradesh, Cheetahs are likely to arrive at the Kuno National Park next month. The MP’s government plan is to set up a breeding centre for Cheetahs which have not been found in India since 1952. Forest officials said that the Cheetahs coming from Namibia would take some time to get acclimated with the local environment. Meanwhile, six leopards entered the enclosure set up over a five-square-kilometre area for the Cheetahs in Kuno National Park. Two of them have been driven away. Two jumbos have been sent to the enclosure to shoo away the other leopards, officials said.
