Man exploits woman hiding his identity, FIR lodged against six

Shahjahanpur: A man has sexually exploited a woman hiding his religious identity for over nine years, the police said on Sunday. The incident came to light after the police registered an FIR against the man and six others in connection with the case. The man who identified himself as Avinash befriended with a 30-year-old woman nine years ago and took her to his house to introduce her to his family members. Just as the woman entered into an argument with the man for hiding his religious identity, he violated her in the presence of his sister and sister-in-law, the police said. The rapist also made a video clip of the act and threatened the woman to make it public.

After the woman related her tale of woes to her family members, they sought the help of Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Rajesh Awasthi who, along with his supporters, reached the police station ang got an FIR registered against the culprits. The police have launched a search for them.
