Amroha (UP): Attack on the people of Dalit community continues in Uttar Pradesh. After the rape and murder of several Dalit girls, a Dalit widow and her minor daughter were polished off in Kankather area under Gajraula police station in Amhora district of the state on Sunday morning, the police said.  

According to reports, a 32-year-old widow Manisha and her 13-year-old daughter were found murdered in their house. Manisha’s husband Pavan died a few years ago. The woman was living with her daughter, and her son Manvik was staying at his maternal grandmother’s house, the police further said.

According to circle officer Arun Kumar, when the milkman opened the door of the house, he saw the woman and her daughter lying in a pool of blood. As the shocked milkman raised a hue and cry, a large number of villagers rushed to the spot and informed the police about the incident. A piece of stone was found beside the cot. The woman’s family members blamed her in-laws for the murder and lodged a complaint against them, saying that the in-laws of Manisha wanted the grab the properties of Pavan.

The police officer further said that a case was registered and some people were detained for quizzing.
