A few days before, Azam’s spokesperson Fasahat Ali Khan, had accused Akhilesh Yadav of ignoring Azam as well as other seniors in the Muslim community. He said that Akhilesh doesn’t want to have the tag of a pro-Muslim leader, so he is not paying proper attention to them. Khan is lodged in Sitapur jail since February 2020. A lot of cases are imposed on him including theft and encroachment. In the recent elections, Azam was elected from the Rampur seat and his son Abdullah Azam won the Swar seat. Both haven’t taken the oath of Legislative Assembly yet so technically they are not a member of the house.

SP leader from Saharanpur resigned the party
A local SP leader of Saharanpur, Sikander Ali, who held several posts in the district unit of the party, resigned on Wednesday. He alleged Akhilesh Yadav for not paying proper attention to Muslims. He said Akhilesh is neither raising the voice for Azam khan nor for the other leaders. He said the party led by Akhilesh is different from the party run by Mulayam Singh Yadav.
