Planning for air travel is one thing and boarding the flight and reaching the destination is another. As I always say, we live in changing times. There are several cases registered on a daily basis of flights and even trains getting canceled or rescheduled. Reasons can be endless that will be shared by the officials with the passengers for the change in the travel schedule. However, if you are at the receiving end, i.e. the victim of having your flight got canceled, what will you do next? Here are some ways of overcoming that flight cancelation phase:

1) Stop freaking out:
It is natural to start thinking of all the bad words about the airplane or air company that has made you cancel your already-fixed flight tickets. You may also feel like taking up the damn phone that gave you the message or the call from the official who shared with you his plight regarding the cancelation of your travel tickets and ends up sharing your worries and concerns in an extremely negative manner. But please stop! Neither your bad words nor your fate of not being able to fly on the said date with the said airline is going to change by your negative thinking and expressions. So, why increase your blood pressure over such a thing and why not invest your time and energy in planning for another tour altogether?

2) Make use of plan B if you have already made OR:
In MBA or even in any business meeting, you might have surely heard of how corporates stress the importance of having a plan B. Because it is natural to not always expect things to fall in place the way we wish to happen. So, what is your plan B if you had already made it in case your flight would get canceled or rescheduled? Do you have any? If not, then think about the ways of reaching your destination from the same airline with different timings for your departure and arrival. If the same airline is facing some issues, be flexible with your credit card to pay additional amount and book tickets through another airline company. After all, you don’t want to miss out on the tour dates just because a crappy thing happened with your flight tickets.
3) How about alternate modes of transport:
Probably if your credit card limit has reached and you don’t wish to buy those expensive flight tickets at the last moment, then you can think about going by train or bus to your said destination with a low-cost fare. Of course, you would be spending more hours on travel than earlier but if cost is a problem, then feel free to put more effort and energy into fulfilling your travel plans. Look for tatkal booking options if train tickets for your last-minute travel are also not available. I am sure that the price will be comparatively lesser than the high-rise flight tickets for a last-minute booking.
