Visiting Bandra Bandstand in this New Era

Bandra Bandstand is a famous tourist attraction for anyone who visits Mumbai. Bandra Bandstand can be reached by train, bus, cab and via road transport. I started to Bandra Bandstand from Dombivli station. It was a long queue at the railway ticket counter on a recent Sunday. I had to show my Universal Travel Pass and Vaccine certificate to get a Bandra return ticket to travel in second class from Dombivli East railway station.

It took me almost 10 minutes to catch a slow train at 12 PM and the train was uncrowded as compared to how trains were usually during the pre-pandemic times. Commuters were wearing masks only till they were on the railway platform and once they boarded the trains, they lowered their masks so that they could interact with other passengers. After an hour of commute on the train, I got down at Dadar Railway station and then from there boarded a slow train to Borivali by changing platforms and walking for nearly 10-15 minutes to reach the Western line platform.

Once I got down at Bandra station, I came outside and took a share rickshaw towards Bandstand that was of Rs. 30/- per seat. As it was too hot in the afternoon time, I got down at Bandstand and sat near the Bandra fort that is located near the Taj Lands’ End. There was not much crowd though and people were wearing masks and found to be using sanitizers. The place is primarily for couples who sit in the garden area to talk out and share their love for each other.

You also get to see the waves on the sea and enjoy time with nature as there are so many trees around you that give you a calming and healing effect. It is never the same as the pre-pandemic times but if you are someone who has been at the home only for a long period of time, it is time to get up and make a move to a place that you cherish the most.
