Lifestyle Desk – The world’s longest river cruise, the MV Ganga Vilas was flagged off in Varanasi on 13 Jan Friday. PM Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the cruise from Varanasi to Dibrugarh.
The virtual event was attended by UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Sarbananda Sonowal. Also, the Union Minister of Port Shipping and Waterways.
MV Ganga Vilas will cover a journey of 3,200 km in 51 days and will reach Assam’s Dibrugarh after passing through Bangladesh. The 50 tourist sports covered by the cruise are river ghats, World Heritage Sites, National Parks, and major cities in both India and Bangladesh.
Moreover, the 32 Swiss tourists will enjoy the vibrant culture of Patna, Sahibganj, Kolkata, Dhaka, and Guwahati. Sounds interesting, right?
It itself measures 62 meters in length and 12 meters in width and set sail with a draft of 1.4 meters. It can harbor 36 tourists. The inside interior is totally luxury. Brightly painted walls, carpeted hallways, stylish interiors with cozy ambient lighting, spacious rooms with big windows, and elegant decks with wooden flooring are worth seeing.
Also, the dining and lounge areas have comfortable-looking sofas, with potted plants spread across the vessel. It features an indoor gym with sophisticated exercise equipment.
