New Delhi: The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) loosened more restrictions and approved the reopening of gyms, schools, universities, and coaching institutes in the city on Friday (February 4, 2022), despite a significant reduction in the number of daily Covid-19 cases in the national capital.

“Higher education institutions in Delhi will be available to the public, subject to SoPs and rigorous adherence to COVID-approved behaviour. The schools will open in phases. On February 7, schools for grades 9-12 will return. Teachers who have not been vaccinated will be barred from instructing “according to reliable sources.
Following a meeting today, the DDMA decided to shorten the night curfew by an hour, moving it from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Previously, the night curfew began at 10 p.m.

According to data published by the municipal health department on Thursday, Delhi reported 2,668 new Covid-19 cases and 13 deaths, with the positive rate dropping to 4.3 percent. According to the most recent health bulletin, the number of cases in the national capital has risen to 18,38,647, with a death toll of 25,932.
