Netflix has announced that it will cancel the membership of users who are inactive since the last one year.
The company plans to send emails and in-app notifications to such inactive users recommending them to continue the platform. If users do not give their confirmation to continue, Netflix will on its cancel such subscriptions.
The same rule will also be applied to members who have stopped watching content on Netflix for more than two years.
The decision of the company comes at a time when it is facing tough competition from companies such as Disney+, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Alt Balaji, Zee5 etc.
Netflix’s total customer base has rose to 182.86 million in the last few months.
