As per a recent report, social media app Instagram is likely to introduce Reels feature soon in India.
The new feature was earlier launched in Brazil last year and was being tested for the Indian users.
The move comes days after the government imposed a ban on the TikTok app last week in an intention to boycott Chinese apps.
Some reports say that some Indian users already have got the new feature with the updated version of the Instagram app.
The feature that was introduced in Brazil was later also launched in France and Germany last month.
Instagram Reels is said to be similar to TikTok and allows users to make and edit video clips of up to 15 seconds.
After editing the videos, they can be shared on the photo-sharing app.
Users can also get the option to add effects and music to their videos.
Instagram Reels is a fun and creative way for people to show their entertaining side to others.
As of now, the launch date has not been shared thought.
Many creators who were using TikTok earlier have started being active on Instagram and YouTube after the TikTok app was banned in India.
Alternative to TikTok, many Indian apps were promoted such as Chingari, Mitron, and Roposo, which will now face tough competition from Instagram Reels.
