Date:

England fast bowler Joffra Archer was fined and given an official warning for violating the strict segregation protocol imposed for the restoration of international cricket. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement on Saturday that the sentence was given after a disciplinary hearing on Friday evening.

The Barbados-born Archer had violated the Bio-Safe Protocol by going home after the first Test against the West Indies. He then apologized for doing so. He was then dropped from the squad for the second Test against the West Indies starting on Thursday and is on a five-day separation. He will have to undergo two covid-19 probes and he will be able to join the rest of the team on Tuesday only when it comes negative.

According to the report, the 25-year-old stayed at his home for an hour before leaving for Manchester. Although the person Archer met has been found to be corona virus negative, the meeting was found to be in violation of the ECB’s Bio-Secure Protocol, according to which no person (who is part of the series) can meet any outsider.

However, The Sun’s report claimed that Archer had changed his path not to meet his girlfriend but to meet the dog. According to this report, Archer’s friends have confirmed the same thing.
