Kolkata: Three-time Trinamool Congress MP Shatabdi Roy has been appointed as the vice-president of the party’s Bengal unit. The announcement was made by the Trinamool Congress after a dramatic development two days ago, when there was a discussion that Shatabdi Roy, like other leaders, could join the BJP. Assembly elections are due in Bengal in April-May.
Roy said that we welcome this decision and she will work hard to ensure BJP’s defeat in the next election. Shatabdi, who came to the world of politics from acting, also said that if someone puts his problems before the top leadership, then his solution is found out. This development has proved this. Shatabdi Roy hinted at quitting TMC by tweeting a few days ago. Just a day before leaving for New Delhi, party leader Abhishek Banerjee met her and announced changing her tone that she would remain in TMC.
