Parliamentary committee summoned Facebook and Twitter

New Delhi: The parliamentary committee has summoned the top officials of Facebook and Twitter to discuss the topic of preventing misuse of social media. The government has asked these officers to appear before the committee at 4 pm on January 21. The issue of protecting civil rights and preventing misuse of social / online news media platforms will be discussed with them. Women security in the digital space is also on the agenda.

According to the official agenda of the meeting shared with the committee members, “Evidence from representatives of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and ‘Protecting the rights of citizens and preventing misuse of social / online news media platforms’ on Facebook and Twitter” A meeting has been organized to listen to the views of the delegates, with special emphasis on the safety of women in the digital space.
