New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi again attacked the central government on the draft Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and said that it should be withdrawn. Rahul tweeted and alleged that the purpose of the draft EIA-2020 is ‘loot of the nation’.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted on Monday that the purpose of the draft EIA2020 is clear – #LootOfTheNation, this is another dreadful example of what the BJP government is for the selected suit-boot ‘friends’, who looted the resources of the country. – What has you been doing?
He also appealed to people on Sunday to protest against the new Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) 2020 draft because it is “dangerous” and if notified would have long-term consequences “disastrous”.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Environment had issued a notification regarding the draft EIA in March this year and suggestions were sought from the public on this. Under this, there are cases of environmental clearance for different projects.
